DEUTSCHE BEVERAGE BREW DAY 2022

On Friday, February 25, 2022, Deutsche opened its doors to past, present, and prospective clients for Brew Day.  In addition, we were joined by partners, contractors, and even a few former employees.  The British have a saying, “it was all beer and skittles”, which means simply “fun and amusing”.  While we can’t claim to have served any skittles, the multiple brews on tap, Sweet Lew’s Barbeque, and great company certainly made this an event that was nothing but beer and skittles!

There were many highlights of Brew Day.  The first and most notable was the quiet intelligence of none other than Marcus Baskerville of Weathered Souls Brewery, who manned Deutsche’s automated control panel for the onsite brewing system.  A cheer went up as he and his crew executed their first pitch upon boil. Marcus, who we’ve written about previously, and his team at Weathered Souls is preparing the opening of a second location right here, in Charlotte, at 255 Clanton Rd.  The 10,000 sqft facility will include a Deutsche customized brewhouse, a coffee house, and a taproom. You can be sure that those of us at Deutsche are more than a little excited!

If you did join us for Brew Day, and you were wondering where the crowd was, upon entering, it was likely lunchtime.  In which case, you only had to walk through the back door to see the line forming at Lew’s Barbeque food truck.  The baskets leaving the small serving window were heaped with some of the best BBQ that Charlotte has to offer, in the form of brisket, pulled chicken, chopped pork, tamales.  Oh, there was dessert too!

Among the many guests, we were pleased to have been joined by the guys from Lucky Hare Brewing.  It was a trek for these hardworking brewers, all the way from Seneca Lake in New York State. They are noted to be the Finger Lake’s Finest Farm Brewery.  The location is stunning and a perfect backdrop for the state-of-the-art Deutsche installation that keeps their brewery running.  They annually produce 1000 barrels of beer ranging from their staple ESB and IPAs to Russian Imperial Stouts and Belgian Style Ales.

We were extremely honored when one of their own, Tony Cordova, left us with this raving review:

“Deutsche Beverage and the team of great people that work there have gone above and beyond to help us get what we want, when we want it.  They have been responsive, helpful, and enthusiastic to meet our needs as a company.  Working with them has been a joy, and I look forward to cultivating this relationship for years to come.”

We simply can’t think of a better note to end on.  Thank you to all of those who joined us for what was a wonderful and highly memorable day!
