All right, so MJ Biz is right around the corner, and things are really gearing up for the show. Andrew, this is kind of like your Super Bowl, isn’t it?

That’s it. That’s probably the most accurate description of MJ Biz. You get through preseason and then Croptober, which is like the Super Bowl for some. But for us and what we bring to the table, MJ Biz is definitely the biggest event of the year.

You’ve been to MJ Biz a lot. How many times have you gone?

This will be my sixth year attending MJ Biz.

Nice. So for those who haven’t been to MJ Biz before, what should they expect or prepare for?

That’s a great question. If you’re in the industry, or even just adjacent to it, you know that MJ Biz is huge. It keeps getting bigger and a little more overwhelming every year. To get the most out of it, having a clear goal and understanding what you want from the show is crucial. This year, there are over 1,400 vendors, showcasing everything from processing and cultivation to retail, SaaS technology, and more. It’s really the entire cannabis industry coming together for a few days in Vegas. They’re expecting nearly 30,000 attendees, so it’s easy to get lost. Plus, being in Vegas, there’s always a lot happening. So having a plan is important, and that goal can look different for everyone.

One key aspect to highlight is the educational and networking opportunities at MJ Biz. It’s a chance to connect with others who have successfully navigated the challenges you might be facing. Plus, equipment manufacturers like us can share insights from working with other clients, which can be really valuable for newcomers.

Absolutely. The cannabis industry is uniquely collaborative, at least in my experience. Everyone is usually open to sharing how they overcame challenges and are willing to help. That networking aspect is vital for growth, both for the industry and individual businesses. We’ll have people from all over — the East Coast, Midwest, down South. It’s a rare opportunity for people from all these regions to interact, share insights, and work together in a consultative way to elevate the industry and improve their own operations.

Another big topic at MJ Biz is the market for infused beverages. We’ve seen a lot of customers wanting to expand into this area, and it’s a growing segment. It’s a great way for brands to offer an alternative product that resonates with a broader customer base. The beverage market is expanding quickly, and if you’re not involved or at least considering it, you might be missing out. Taking production in-house has its advantages, and we can speak to that.

That’s a good point. The infused beverage market is exciting. It offers a new, approachable way for people to experience cannabis, especially in formats like seltzers or mocktails with controlled doses. We’ve helped many customers create these products with equipment designed to handle everything from small-scale to large-scale operations. We’ve learned a lot from our work in this space, and it’s clear that this market is only going to grow as the technology and methods become more refined.

We’ve also developed equipment tailored to customer needs. Some clients come to us with a specific idea, and we work to create a system that can bring that vision to life. This year, we’re bringing the latest iteration of our infused beverage system to MJ Biz. We have these systems operating in multiple states, from Ashby, Massachusetts, to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and even Planet 13 in Las Vegas, which uses our system for drinks and edibles. If you get a chance, visiting Planet 13 is worth it. It’s like the Willy Wonka of cannabis, with their production lines on full display.

Our equipment stands out because it’s designed to be flexible and efficient. We build systems that can handle a wide range of products, from RTDs and lemonades to complex cannabis-infused beverages. We focus on wrapping our equipment around our customers’ methods, ensuring usability and ease of operation. Even for complex processes, we make the equipment straightforward to use and train employees on.

Sustainability and efficiency are key for us. We want our customers to succeed not only when they first turn on the system but over the long term. We think about one-, three-, five-, and even ten-year plans for our clients, making sure the equipment can scale as needed while minimizing operator costs.

Our control panels are built in-house in Charlotte, North Carolina, and our engineers are available to help troubleshoot and design processes. We assist with everything from extraction and distillation to infused beverages and edibles, making sure our systems meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Vertical integration is another major topic. We help clients from initial extraction, whether it’s ethanol, BHO, or solventless methods, through to winterization, bulk solvent recovery, and short-path distillation. We offer solutions tailored to the customer’s needs, ensuring they can produce high-quality products efficiently.

Our equipment is designed for operations of all sizes, from small craft batches to large-scale production. In vertically integrated states, there’s often a lot of government oversight, so having a reliable partner who understands certifications and sanitary processing is crucial. We make sure our systems are compliant and easy to manage.

We’ll be at booth 5627 at MJ Biz in Las Vegas, December 3rd through the 6th. Stop by to see us and our equipment, or visit our website if you can’t make it. We also have detailed videos on our YouTube page covering our processes and equipment. We’re excited to meet you and learn more about your business and goals. See you there or online!
