Rooted in the Tampa Bay beer scene, Florida Avenue has grown into more than a local brewery. It is a dialed-in production facility built to keep pace with serious demand, producing both its own Florida Avenue brands and select contract beers for other brewers.
Today, the brewery’s production is split between roughly 60% Florida Avenue brands and 40% contract brewing. In busy stretches, Madison, Vice President of Production, said the team has brewed close to 1,000 barrels in a single week, a sign of just how much volume is moving through the facility.
For Madison, that growth comes down to adaptation, consistency, and staying focused on what matters most inside the brewery: making high-quality beer that people want to share.
As the brand has evolved, Florida Avenue has become known for beer that reflects the easygoing character of the Sunshine State while still meeting the expectations of modern craft drinkers. Its beers are approachable, flavorful, and rooted in Florida, qualities that continue to guide the brewery’s next stage of growth.
Growing with Intention
Florida Avenue’s growth strategy is rooted in keeping the brewery productive while continuing to build demand for its own brands.
Contract brewing remains part of that equation. Working with other brewers creates opportunities to compare processes, learn from different production approaches, and keep the facility moving efficiently.
For Madison, the value of contract brewing is both operational and collaborative.
“You’re working with other brewers that have some differences and some similarities of what you’re doing,” Madison said. “It’s a chance to learn. See what these guys are doing, see if they’ve got some different ideas on how to do processes and use that opportunity to learn.”
That mindset reflects the way Florida Avenue approaches production as a whole. The goal is not simply to grow for the sake of growth. It is to keep the brewery running efficiently, support the business, and create the capacity needed for the brand’s next chapter.

Adding Capacity Where It Counts
As demand has increased, Florida Avenue has had to look closely at where production bottlenecks appear. The brewhouse can produce more. The packaging line can handle more. The pressure point is fermentation capacity.
That need led the team to add outdoor tanks, giving the brewery more cellar space without disrupting the already tight layout inside the facility.
“We are pretty much at capacity,” Madison said. “We’re chasing tanks. As soon as we empty one, we’re trying to fill it.”
For a production-focused brewery, that kind of demand creates both opportunity and urgency. Every tank, line, and utility connection has to support the pace of the operation.
Space inside the brewery is limited, which made the outdoor tank project an important step forward.

Partnering with Deutsche for Brewery Piping Services
When Florida Avenue needed piping support for the expansion, Deutsche was a natural fit. While Deutsche provides a full range of brewhouses, brewing equipment, and piping solutions, this project was not about installing a brand-new system. The goal was to integrate into Florida Avenue’s existing brewing system and help expand the infrastructure that was already in place.
The project required more than simply running pipe from one point to another. Florida Avenue needed utility infrastructure that could support active production, outdoor fermentation capacity, chemical handling, and a new automated keg wash/fill line.

Deutsche supported the glycol piping for the new outdoor tanks, helping give the added cellar capacity the cooling infrastructure needed to operate properly. The team also installed sanitary stainless tubing for chemical feed from exterior storage tanks into the facility and completed steam piping for Florida Avenue’s upgraded automated keg wash/fill line.

The keg line upgrade was a significant improvement for the brewery. Florida Avenue moved from an older two-head keg filler to a fully automated keg wash/fill line, and Deutsche handled the steam piping required to bring the system online.
“We had an old two-head keg filler and we upgraded to a fully automatic keg line,” Madison said. “They came in and did all the new steam lines to the new keg line, which was quite a project too.”
For Madison, one of the strongest parts of working with Deutsche was the clarity of the process. Before the installation began, the team aligned on the scope, specs, drawings, and proposed work.
“The communication has always been super open and clear,” Madison said. “Whenever we gave them what our specs were and what we were asking for, they came back with the P&IDs and, ‘This is what we’re going to do, this is what we propose.’ Everything looked good.”
Once the project moved into the field, Deutsche’s crew delivered the work efficiently and cleanly.
“Their crews were fantastic,” Madison said. “The guys were quick, they were efficient. And the piping turned out great.”
Deutsche also coordinated the insulation work, an important detail for glycol piping and cooling performance in a brewery environment. Madison said the finished result stood out.

Another important part of the project was chemical dosing and transfer piping. As Florida Avenue continued to expand its production infrastructure, the team needed a cleaner, more reliable way to move chemicals from exterior storage tanks into the brewery.
For a facility operating at Florida Avenue’s pace, chemical handling is not a small detail. Cleaning, sanitation, and production support systems all depend on having the right utilities in the right places, installed in a way that supports daily brewery operations.
Deutsche helped connect Florida Avenue’s outdoor chemical storage tanks to the interior of the facility using sanitary stainless piping. That work gave the brewery a more streamlined way to feed chemicals into the production space while keeping the installation clean, durable, and aligned with the standards expected in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
More than a year after the installation was completed, the system continues to reliably support Florida Avenue’s production needs.
Built for What Comes Next
Florida Avenue began brewing into the new outdoor tanks the summer after installation, and has been filling them ever since.
As the brewery looks ahead, additional fermentation capacity remains a major focus. Those plans are still preliminary, but Madison said the team is actively watching capacity and staying proactive in their planning.
A forward-looking approach has helped Florida Avenue keep growing while staying focused on the fundamentals: quality beer, efficient production, and a brand experience people want to come back to.
From Florida-inspired beers to production planning and utility infrastructure, Florida Avenue Brewing is building for long-term success. And as the brewery continues to grow, dependable systems and strong partners will remain an important part of that momentum.
For Deutsche, supporting Florida Avenue meant helping a busy production brewery keep tanks full, utilities running, and beer moving.
For Florida Avenue, the result was simple.
“It worked out fantastic,” Madison said. “They did a really great job for us.”
Brewed for Sharing
Florida Avenue’s motto is simple: Brewed for Sharing.
That phrase shows up in the way the company thinks about its beer, its brand, and the experience it wants to create for customers. The goal is not to make beer that only appeals to one narrow audience. It is to make beer that is flavorful, consistent, and easy to enjoy with others.
“Our motto is brewed for sharing,” Madison said. “We’re trying to make something that is super drinkable, but also has character.”
That balance matters. Florida Avenue’s beers are designed to be approachable without being forgettable. They are refreshing enough for the Florida lifestyle, but still built with the flavor and quality that craft beer drinkers expect.
“Everything that we’re making really has a Florida kind of focus to it,” Madison said. “As far as our fruit beers, we’re trying to use fruits from Florida and maintain that Florida beach lifestyle. Nice, easy drinking, but fully flavorful products.”
For Florida Avenue, that commitment to drinkability is paired with a serious focus on quality control. As the brewery has grown, the team has continued to invest in its lab and production processes to make sure each beer meets the standard before it reaches customers.
“Sticking to quality is number one,” Madison said. “Making sure that the quality control is there. We’ve invested a lot in our labs. We’re testing throughout the process to make sure that everything is exactly where we want it to be.”
