today I’m going to show you how to replace the diaphragm and seal inside of your glycol granzow valve um so this will probably be piped in for your glycol and wired also so it can be a little difficult to get to these bolts if need be you can take off the actual solenoid

and you can get to your uh bolts here a little bit

easier just kind of get them all broke

loose while I’m doing this I want to make a note that there is a direction of flow which like I said it will be hard piped in but there is a arrow for the direction of flow of your glycol going in to your fermentation bright tank heat exchanger and cold liquor

tank going to take these set them aside

all right covers

off this is your diaphragm you’ll notice that there’s a very small spring that you do not want to lose and then there is a small hole that will go in the direction of your flow so when this is mounted for your tank you need to make sure that that small hole is going to be going in the direction of the flow so we take that out take a small Flathead that comes out really easy there’s our old Parts our new part replace

this take your new diaphragm don’t lose the small

spring there’s my small hole this is the direction of flow so that will need to go the small Hol is on the top direction of flow that way

it’s also uh a good thing to know in case you ever have uh valve problems with flow that’s usually the problem is that you can get debris trash in there and it will get around the ceiling part of the diaphragm and it will allow glycol to slip through so just a good heads up if you ever need to not just replace but if you need to do your own personal maintenance on them it’s a first first place to start

all right got all this tightened down you can tell which side it came off of course you’ll remember because this can be turned in any direction but this is where you’ll have your wire coming in and this also can go in any direction you just want to make sure that you have your washer on the flat side

tighten that back down go and actuate it test it out you should be good to go thanks for watching stay tuned for more

Learn how to replace the seal in your butterfly valve with this easy-to-follow step-by-step guide! Whether you’re new to maintenance or just need a quick refresher, this video walks you through the entire process, ensuring your valve operates smoothly and efficiently.

I’m going to show you today how to replace your seals in your butterfly valves um fairly easy process uh you only need a couple tools first you will pop out the uh blue cap keep in mind you do need to remember what orientation this is because you can put the handle back on the wrong way and you’ll be doing opposite of what you want your valve to do and it’ll take a little time for you to figure out what your what your problem is so first thing we’ll just take this screw out this is a 4 mm uh Allen

just take this

out you do have to just compress the handle slightly just to get it to come up and if you do it too much you can pop that spring out so don’t lose your spring and we take this off set them down in orientation so it’s easier to put back together you don’t forget which way you took it off and you simply uh this one’s a 5 m mm Allen just go around and loosen

those all right and it pops right in

half don’t lose your little white caps here either they’re kind of like little spacers and then you simply take it stretch it

over slides right off like that we got our new one here it’s the same on both sides so that orientation does not matter shove that back on

there like I said keep in mind that orientation that you had in we had it in the open position slide our caps back

on that will fit right back in

there let try the other

way all right orientation open position it has matching on both sides of course so you don’t want to accidentally turn it around it’s also got a flat part there where the handle

goes just like that orientation of your screws and that’s doesn’t matter so you can pick either

side let’s go around and get all those started

we’ll go around with a this is a 10

mm kind of just like to do it like a a tire do it like a star

pattern just good and hand

tight as it does compress that seal you might want to go back around and check all of them just to make sure because once you tighten one side the other side might loosen up a little

bit all right that a little bit

more all right here again orientation does matter but it doesn’t matter which way you put it just as long as the handle is going in the direction of your open valve and then where where this is needs to line up with the teeth so we’ve got in the fully open position we’ll say direction of flow is going that

way this is also very helpful if for some reason you put a valve on and you have it Tri clamped onto your uh process piping and for some reason you want to flip it around maybe it got put on backwards you can do this exact same thing take this off take this off you can flip the handle this direction oppose this direction then you don’t have to take your TR clamps off to you don’t have to fully disassemble it to to switch Direction that’s pretty much it easy enough

hi I’m Matt woak with deuts beverage um I just want to show you how to replace the uh diaphragm and the seal and your uh sample port very simple um you pretty much only need two tools um you take your adjustable wrench it’s really can can be fairly easy sometimes if it’s not you can use the flat part here and put it in a visce just to hold on to it so you can get a little more leverage on it and be able to take that off just get it

started all right right here is your diaphragm I pretty much just use a small screwdriver kind of just pry it up just a little bit on the inside it’s got a kind of cone top

right there’s our old one as you can see it’s got this Ridge in the top and then on the inside of here it has a little recess part where it’ll pop right onto there pretty much just wiggle it

on right that’s on there there’s your diaphragm next we’ve got the seal on the actual knob on top same thing thing with the Flathead just kind of get right under it comes off real

simple and if you’re replacing it anyway it doesn’t really matter if you tear it of

course and you take your new one slid right on there under that Ridge

screw that right back on

there that tight and check it out make sure you’re gasket on top seated properly and that’s it thanks for watching stay tuned for more
